October Kickstarter Roundup

Welcome to October everyone! Have a Kickstarter roundup!

We’re switching things up a bit this month with the Kickstarter Roundup: In addition to board games we’re also going to be talking about other cool things ready and waiting to be backed over on Kickstarter!

So without further ado, let’s do this thing!

Victoriana

First up is Victoriana!

The setting: Victorian London. A conspiracy is afoot that threatens all of England and the Queen. A team of intrepid investigators, each with their own special abilities, must work together to uncover three crucial elements – mastermind, plot and locale – to save the day.

Victoriana has a lot going for it: a cool theme, interesting mechanics and even literary undertones! Now, the Moose love their co-operative games so when you take that as a basis for a board game and then add in solving conspiracies and intrigue as famous literary/historical characters (seriously, you can be Sherlock Holmes or even Wilhelmina Harker!) you’ve whipped up combination that makes the Moose perk up, antlers and all, in their seats.

Beyond that, Victoriana features some absolutely gorgeous conceptual artwork and a plot that sees the players working together to save Queen and Country. The setting of Victorian London particularly appeals to Cole (an Ex-Londoner). There are also some great add-ons (including a time traveler addition)!

Base Pledge: $69 (plus free shipping within the United States!)

Project Ends: October 13th, 2016

An anthology of short stories celebrating the massive amount of wonderful stories from the Hugo Awards long list!

This is a really exciting Kickstarter. Every year there are numerous wonderful stories nominated for the Hugo Awards that don’t make it onto the shortlist. This anthology collects as many titles from that long list as possible into one convenient volume. If the base goal is met the short stories will be included (from writers such as Amal El-Mohtar, Aliette de Bodard and Alyssa Wong). Stretch goals will allow novelettes and novellas to be included as well!

If you’re a fan of shorter style science fiction fantasy fiction this is an awesome Kickstarter for you! There are pledge options for both ebook and print formats, priced accordingly, so the expense is minimal and definitely a deal conserving everything you get in return! And, if you are willing to shell out some extra cash and move fast, there are pledge options where you can get critiques from writers like Sunil Patel and Erica Satifka!

Plus, how awesome is the concept art for the cover by Galen Dara?

Base Pledge: $10 (Ebook), $30 (Print & Ebook)

Project Ends: October 17th, 2016
